Runners from 30 nations have already registered for
the Masters World
Championship Mountain Run on 23. September in Bludenz.
Just two weeks before the start of the Masters World
Championship Mountain Run a large number of participants
are already expected. The response has been enormous
and enrolments have been received from all over Europe
and the World (USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia,
Venezuela, South America, Mexico ...). Amongst others
the overall champion in all classes, Guiterrez Simon
from the USA, is expected, as well as Pakosz Irena
the Ladies overall champion from Poland.
Many runners from neighbouring countries (Germany,
Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, England) have already
visited Bludenz and trained on the World Championship
course, including the title defender in the category
W45, Marie-Luise Heilig Duventäster from Germany.
She described the course as worthy and very challenging.
After a fast starting lap the course continues through
the old town of Bludenz and up towards the Muttersberg
cable car.
Duventäster found the stretch between kilometer
2.5 and 4.5 particularly challenging. At this point
the course follows a rooty path to Laz and within
a short distance participants climb 300 m in altitude.
The stretch then winds it's way at a relatively regular
rate of ascent along a forest track to the top of
the Muttersberg. Duventäster is very enthusiastic
about the finish, which has been erected by the newly
constructed stage at the top of the mountain.
World Championship Mountain Run also for Hobby Runners
Not only trained runners, but also hobby runners can
join in the fun of the competition and subsequent
celebrations. No qualifying times or club membership
is necessary.
The aim is to finish - and with a distance of 9.2
km (850 m HD) to cover, it is within the capabilities
of each and EVERYONE.
So grasp the opportunity and enjoy the experience
of the unique atmosphere of a World Championship first
hand.
